After growing demand from our customers and our customers’ customers for planet-friendly, omnichannel fulfilment solutions, we knew we had to expand our sustainable capability in the EU.
Successful, high-growth brands like Charlotte Tilbury, The Inkey List and Dock & Bay chose ILG’s EU fulfilment centre due to its cost-efficiency and prime location in the heart of Europe, with easy access to EU consumers and retailers.
So, after our initial move to the EU in 2021, we’re pleased to announce the opening of our brand-new fulfilment centre in Poland, which features impeccable environmental credentials. This state-of-the-art, ‘BREEAM Outstanding’ facility, located nearby our first EU facility in Wroclaw, is one of the most sustainable warehouses in our portfolio. Shared with our parent company, Yusen Logistics, the 450,000 sq ft site expands our capabilities to fulfil from within the EU and removes Brexit-related barriers for our clients selling to their EU customers.
Sustainable Fulfilment from the EU
The new facility boasts a range of sustainable features designed to minimise environmental impact, reduce carbon emissions by up to 50% and promote energy efficiency. These include:
Energy-Efficient Lighting: The warehouse is equipped with advanced LED lighting systems with dynamic control that reduce energy consumption significantly. Motion and daylight sensors ensure that lights are only on when needed, further cutting down on unnecessary energy use.
Energy Self-Sufficiency: The 250kW solar panel system installed on the warehouse roof generates electricity and minimises reliance on external energy sources. When additional electricity is needed, the site is supplied via green energy sources.
Heat-Efficient Structure: A host of features such as ventilation by air-handling unit with heat recovery, high standard insulation and envelope tightness, ensure a minimum temperature of 15°C inside the building.
Boosting Biodiversity: The area surrounding the warehouse is planted with flower meadows, native tree species and shrubs to attract a variety of insects and other wildlife. Beehives and insect hotels will also be installed.
Benefits of Fulfilling from Poland
The strategic location of our new fulfilment centre in Wroclaw offers numerous benefits for our customers. Positioned at the crossroads of major European trade routes, the facility provides excellent connectivity to key markets across the EU. The central location offers faster shipping times and reduced transportation costs for customers, meaning they benefit from more efficient and cost-effective shipping and fulfilment compared to fulfilling to EU destinations from our UK sites.
Fulfilling from Poland allows ILG to tap into the country’s highly skilled labour and advanced logistics infrastructure. Poland’s robust transportation networks, including well-developed road, rail, and air links, ensure that our customers’ orders can be delivered quickly and reliably to their destinations.

Transitioning to highly sustainable warehouse facilities is a crucial part of ILG’s strategy to shift to a net-zero operation by 2030, and we’re not stopping at the EU. This year, we are opening another ‘BREEAM Outstanding’, 180,000 sq ft. facility in Northampton to add to our estate of sustainable warehouses in the UK.
