Helping Our Communities
We believe in giving back to our local communities, places where so many ILG staff live or grew up. As well as charity fundraising, we provide employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people and those with learning challenges.
Kickstarting Careers for Young People
In 2021 we offered 27 local unemployed young people job placements across our warehouse facilities as part of the DWP’s Kickstart Scheme. ILG gave each Kickstarter six months of guaranteed paid work, tailored training and help with CV writing, job searching tips and interview techniques. So far, 10 participants have gone on to secure permanent or fixed-term contracts at ILG.
Raising Funds for Turning Tides
We support Turning Tides Charity, an inspirational charity supporting people experiencing homelessness across West Sussex. They support people at every stage of their journey, empowering them on a pathway to greater strength and independent living. They always believe change is possible and never give up on anyone. And that working together as a community is the solution.
Raising Funds for the Hope Centre
We support Northampton Hope Centre Charity, who help over 3,000 people every month that are homeless, hungry or living in hardship. Their work helps people experiencing problems of disadvantage and marginalisation, including hardship, homelessness, addiction and mental health. As well as giving practical support, they focus on helping people to help themselves.
Supporting Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid
We work closely with Aldingbourne Trust, a Sussex charity focused on improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism. By participating in the Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid initiative, we provide paid employment to individuals challenged by lifelong learning disability, helping to grow their skills and confidence in a fast-moving, inclusive work environment.
