About the Role
We’re on the lookout for an inspiring Learning & Development Manager to take the lead in transforming how we grow and develop our people. This is your chance to make a real impact – driving employee growth, improving performance, and helping shape a culture of continuous learning across our business. You’ll work closely with managers, teams, and external partners to deliver innovative training that empowers our employees and aligns with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Development Strategy: Lead the development and delivery of a company-wide learning and development strategy that aligns with business objectives. Evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of training programs.
- Training Planning & Budgeting: Manage the annual training budget, ensuring effective use of resources, identifying opportunities for savings, and reporting back to senior leadership.
- Training Needs Analysis: Identify and assess the training needs of the business by engaging with managers, employees, and reviewing relevant data. Develop targeted learning solutions to meet those needs.
- Learning Delivery & Content Management: Ensure the most appropriate learning methods are used (including e-learning, workshops, etc.) and keep all training content up to date. Collaborate with external training providers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Employee Development & Career Progression: Support career growth by managing the PDR process, ensuring individual learning plans are created, and helping managers facilitate employee development. Lead on apprenticeship programs and ensure effective use of the apprenticeship levy.
- Inclusive Learning: Promote inclusive development by ensuring accessibility and tailoring learning opportunities to meet the needs of all employees, including those with disabilities. Collaborate with external partners where needed.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all training programs meet industry regulations and internal policies. Track and report on training outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement and action plans.
- Project Management: Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience managing learning and development in a multi-site organisation.
- Skilled in designing and delivering engaging training programs, including e-learning and leadership development.
- Ability to align L&D strategies with business objectives and drive employee growth.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects.
- Excellent communication skills, building relationships with leadership, managers, and external partners.
- Experience managing L&D budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Knowledge of inclusive learning practices and supporting diverse employee needs.
- Ability to analyse training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- CIPD Level 5 or Equivalent: Relevant L&D qualifications or experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
